My Story
Long before founding Today I saw Eden in 2021, my interest in these natural wonders grew out of a lifelong pursuit of design, creativity, and personal exploration. My stepfather, a geologist, spent over 40 years collecting meteorites and precious stones from deserts and mines around the world. His work, along with my mother’s dedication to their gallery until 2021, opened my eyes to the depth and complexity of crystals — not just as objects of beauty, but as vessels of history, energy, and untold stories. Over time, I felt increasingly drawn to explore these layers, unveiling the many dimensions of the crystal world. Though my professional path began in the film industry as a set designer after studying at art school in Hamburg, it was my growing passion for crystals that led me to discover my true creative direction. In 2021, I founded Today I saw Eden alongside my mother, Christiane Paulsen. Together, we combined my design sensibilities with her knowledge and experience, blending our unique contributions to bring this vision to life. In the past year, I’ve discovered my artistic voice — blending poetry, typewriter work, analog photography, and collages with my crystal collections. The Odyssey collection marked a turning point, intertwining my personal journey with the symbolism of the crystals I work with. Through the poems that accompany Odyssey, I’ve come to see how the crystals mirror personal transformation and how they reveal the quiet, profound stories that shape our lives. To me, crystals are more than just beautiful objects — they are reflections of life itself. Each crystal, with its unique structure and history, mirrors the paths we walk and the stories we carry. In my work, I aim to create space for authenticity, exploration, and connection. Today I saw Eden is not merely a brand, but an invitation to reflect, engage with nature, and discover the energy that crystals offer. Each collection tells a living story — a celebration of transformation and the beauty that exists in the spaces between what is seen and unseen. Through a crystal, we glimpse the infinite. In its reflection, we find our own stories unfolding.
